Viva La Espana -Congrats Spain

After a Month , curtains have come down on one of the biggest spectacle on Earth , the FIFA worldcup ! . After all the heartbreaks and near misses , two best teams Spain and Holland were gunning for glory .

The tag names of these teams will give a hint on to their past , " The Beautiful Loosers" - Dutch and " Perennial Underachievers " - Spain . Spain reached the finals for the first time and the Ducth were hoping to be third time lucky .

There were great expectations on both sides but the final was not much of excitement and it was more like a wrestling match with 16 yellow cards !!!! phew!!! that must be tiring for the referee.

The winning goal was scored in the extra time by the spanish , but Roben came close twice to score for the orange !!!

well .. Spanish deserved it , they improved with each game and they handled the pressure well in the Finals .Though I congratulate Spain on their first ever world cup win , my heart is still with Germans and the Brazilians .

Wish them well in the forthcoming edition at Brazil.

Nice Men Finish Last!!!.

Is the above mentioned line true?? Especially in today's competitive world were everybody is ready to stab on your back and slit your throat just to get in front!. The competition is from getting a promotion ion a job to getting a Girl !! you have hundreds of men fighting for it conceptualising deceptive ways to get on top!

Nice and Gentle Men ..who are willing to respect other's feeling and value theor time .. loose the rat race by a big margin?? .. but why ?? Aren't Men who are calm , gentle , patient and at the same time who are intelligent to be noticed and recogonised . Aren't men who are mean and deceptive are to be recogoinised and be listed out .

Why is that from your Boss to a Gitl ..thinks if a Man is gentle and verl clam in approach and who doesnt blow his own horn as a " looser"" or they brand them as Men "short in confidence ".

Well its very simple because Good things are hard to come by and even if they come we reject them saying its too good to be true, such is the cynical world we live in today !!!

Living in a world full of deception and lie , we stated to accept in a way that there is no good in this world. Especially if a Man is too good., he gets branded as " Too Good to Believe".

Well ., Girls who find love in all wrong places , regert too late on missing out a Good man ..just because he was too good to be true or she thought he was not confident enough because of his gentle nature . Men who are chivalrous have become a extinct species , Men who are chivalrous are branded as " trying to get in our Pants"".. funny world. Girls , dont like good men because they just dont woo or pursue them if they are said a "NO " the first time . Nice Men respects her decision and stops wooing her , but the Girl wants him to come after her and woo her to a great length!!! , and then she claims He doesn't have the guts to declare his love to the world...Ironical isnt it?

And why are not they getting promoted , its not because they dont work .. buy they dont know to say yes for everything and they call a Spade a Spade and most importantly they are true to themselves and to the organisation they work and they doesnt ask for promotions or hike because they expect their work to do the talking. Alas we live in a world were everything is biased and all goes to people who are close to their " Bossed"" and do whatever the Bosses require or say and to those who are always running errands to their respective bosses.

And , trust me good looks is not everything but good thoughts is everything.

FiFa World Cup Beautiful Game!- Germany Rocks!

Alas, The Mighty Brazilians fell .. I thought it was time not to see the Fifa world cup anymore .. but then iam fascinated by the Germans this time .. i though with Ballack missing .. Germans might not pose a bigger threat , but , wow! what a team they are ..Fast , Furious and most importantly very shrewd and great Game Play . Their Young team with not so great stars are really revelation this time around.

The English on the other hand , highly paid , highly rated but always under-performing or should i say that is the best that they can perform. , weer thrashed by Germany . The English Team for some reason are always rated high but they come a cropper every time. May be they are all good club players but not good when it comes to playing as a team for the Brits.They are just a collection of individuals.

Well .. I did feel for Argentina who again ironically got knocked out by Germany (4-1). The German Defense proved unbreakable and their offensive play proved unstoppable .

Though my favourite team is out .. Iam Routing for the Germans Now!!!...

Klose, Ozil , Schweinsteiger, Podolski.. Rock!!!

FIFA World Cup!

The Biggest sporting carnival is underway ! The 2010 FiFA world cup! .. the worlds biggest teams descend upon the rainbow nation to showcase their talent and to win and conquer the ultimate glory and be crowned as the World Champions!.

The First world cup to be ever hosted in an African Nation and South Africa rightly deserves the hosting rights , the opening ceremony was a cheerful spectacle with full of music and dance. The Africans nations which has qualified would truly want to utilise the home advantage and would look forward at least to qualify for the knock out stages . I hope at least one of them makes it to the quarterfinal stages .


In fact the first match was a tight contest between the host and the Mexicans , it ended a tight draw with both team scoring ones each and the host came close to scoring a second in the dying stages !

My favourite picks are Brazil followed by Argentina and England . The mentioned teams have skill and the game makers to make it all the way . I wish this tournament is conducted smoothly and without any terrorist incidents ! .....

Waka Waka .. This time its for Africa!

Epics --Is it just a coincidence???

I have been and will be fascinated by Epics again and again ..such as Ramayana, Mahabharatha , Illiyad, Odyssey , Ayenid .. !! They tell you stories about the brave and heroic adventures of great men or Gods and their travails in achieving the greatness!!

Recently ,i had a flash ,that,how similar were these epics, that too epics from varying and ancient cultures of the world. The main crux is about two kingdoms,abducting the woman protagonist or insulting her is the undercurrent,how friendships are bonded and lastly how god triumphs over evil .

For instance take Ramayana .,The story revolves around Goddess Sita who gets abducted and there is a similar story- line to Cypria (by Stasinus ) on how Helen goes to Troy and ignites a battle of great proportions.
The Great Hercules was also very similar to Bhima and Dharma of Mahabharatha in brawn and brain respectively !
Another instance , The great Achilles dies in a similar way to Lord Krishna , on getting shot by an arrow in his heal !!!!. If you read them thoroughly there were Greek warriors who cannot be killed by anyone like Greater Ajax ( who killed himself ) who is similar to "Pitamahar" Bhismar in Mahabharatha ( he had a boon that he can die only if he wants too).Kingdom was Troy was similar to Srilanka from Ramayana.The Greek City states who became united for the war against Troy were similar to the Kingdoms which became united in Mahabharatha to fight against Kauravas.



Infact the Greek and Roman Epics, to name Ayenid , Cypria ,Illiad, Aethiopis,Little Illiad,lliou persis, Nostoi , Odyssey and Telegony to me it appears as fragments of Mahabharatha and Ramayana put together .

Ramayana and Mahabharatha are ageless, The Greek were recent compared to them , in my perspective, the great Greek poets and scholars were greatly impressed by the Indian epics and they wrote their versions of the same .

The above is true for epics around the world .

The Great Greek Gods and Heroes,especially Achilles in Troy has made the same impact as the epics Ramayana and Mahabharatha.

Education-Reservation! Boon or Bane!

Tell me something !! 60 years back , we were a nation with a low literacy rate and we had so many "so called" backward communities and castes and these people were not "modern" so we had to have reservations for them to make them come up and so that they will have an equal opportunities ! But now , 60 years on !! we have the same reservation system and so many generations have passed and the economy booming , do we need the reservation system now??? if so , why??.

Consider this scenario , students with 80% marks and who belongs to a forward community is loosing out on an university seat just because the seat has to be on reservation , in this competitive world is this fair?? and the student who gets in because of a reserved seat , struggles to cope up with the demand , if he really deserves it he must have scored good ! . Let alone merit and fair knowledge be an entry judge and not a student's caste and community .
Deserving students are left in the lurch and because of this , the student ends up settling for a course which is available and not what actually they deserve .

If the Government really feels that these SC/st and other backward communities still need , let the Government start special colleges where they only accommodate students from backward castes and the reservation system in rest of the colleges should be scrapped ! .

Government should also ensure that the Colleges/Universities shouldn't monopolies an the education should be affordable and the cost shouldn't be astronomical !...

Hope the Politicians and the Policy makers wake up and let them up bring the deserving candidate based on merit and not on money and reservations!

The Indian Premier League - The Cricket part

The Indian Premier League ( IPL) came to a grand conclusion ( atleast the cricket played on-field) .I must admit that off-field cricket was more fascinating and absorbing than the on-field cricket.
The drama and excitement was more off-field !!! . But then the last week was all about really good cricket especially the Finals .

It was between two finest cricketers Sachin "The God Tendulkar" and The Mahinder " Maverick" Dhoni .Two of the most contrasting personalities but very aggressive in their own right! Sachin had all the firepower in the world at his disposal and Dhoni was very clever in marshaling the resources available to him . The victory of Chennai super kings led by Dhoni reminded me of the victory of Napoleon's victory at battle of Toulon where he was outnumbered by British and infact the the French high command was against Napoleon . But Napoleon ensured victory with his handful of faithful men and with his will to win breached the British barricade and ducked under the cannons and ripped apart the British !!! .Dhoni ducked under all Sachins volley and tore apart the Mumbai Indians .

What made the victory special was that it was achieved in the enemies territory and it was an Indian Captain to win ( after the first two victories went to Teams led by Aussies ) and moreover my home team won !.

Hats off to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) them and all the best in the Champions League and in all their future endeavours.

Recession!Banking , Money! Jobs!!!!!

Is the Recession over?? The market pundits and analysts say , the economy is slowly picking up ,, things are getting better . But !! are they? .
My personal view is that no they are not !! . My reasons are as follows
1) Banks have lost billions and billions of dollars ( well these are people's money ) , then they have been bailed out by federals by taxpayers money(again people's money ), so it appears they are doing good , but in reality people have lost money both ways as Taxes and their investments too .
2) Banks are still issuing huge bonuses and paying Ceo's exorbitant amount of salaries all with " people's money.
3) Banks have stopped making profits long time back , they still don't, why they show as profit is nothing but debts owed by jobless people which cant be recovered
4)Look at the prices around us , let it be gold , real estate or even basic food commodities everything sky rocketed due to the artificial boom but even after the bubble bust , they remain the same , but jobs were lost and homes were confiscated ! People without jobs or even people with jobs are struggling to make their ends meet !.
5) Jobs .. as they came they went!!!! .. Right from top executives to Junior rank people where hired and sacked like herd of sheep, people are traumatised , depressed because of this , trust me the jobs are not back especially with people with multiple degrees or who were with space figure salaries .
6) The unemployment rate continues to be the same , only few companies have started to recruit , but companies like Ford which underwent major restructuring cannot afford again to provide so many jobs again.
7)Beware!! this recession might happen again as most of the economies are running on borrowed credit and most of the financial companies are playing the same credit revolving game !!!!
8) Today's world has inherited three to four costly wars and hostile neighbours , and countries are spending trillions of dollars on them again our money!!!!
9) when a President says Bankers are like sports person , that we cant ask them why they are getting paid so much !!! wow is ays so much about the control on the institutions!!
10) Lalit Modi should be asked to drive the world economy !!!! he will surely ensure that there is no Recession hereafter


People just stay alert and don't fall prey again , spend wisely and save wisely!

Hockey World Cup!

Let me start by congratulating the marauding Aussies who won the Hockey World cup with elan and they were the efficacy of efficiency .!

I was elated when the world cup was staged without any hassles like security problem or spectator trouble.I thank all the twelve teams who participated in the competitions despite the difficulties involved and the crowd support was better than expected for all the teams .

All teams together gave a message to the world that terrorism cannot instill fear and the world will overcome terrorism .

But , Indian hockey , has to go a long way before they can even think of finishing in the top 3 or 4!!! first , the board has to put up a proper structure in place and the officials has to take up responsibility for the mistakes or rather blunder . The players has to be more responsible , they just cant strike saying will not practise at a crucial time before world cup!!!!! , money is important but representing the country and playing for that pride should be more important !!! .

Indian hockey should stop blaming cricket and cricketers !!! they have a proper board and they know how to expand their coffers and at the same time , they have started taking responsibility on and off the field too !!!..

Being a National Game , i expect Hockey to be a sport to be reckoned with but unfortunately it will happen only of the Administrators , Players and the support staff take more responsibility.The appalling build up to the world cup and especially the sale of tickets!!! that can happen only in India !!!!

If Hockey India doesn't hold elections ,there is a grave danger that it will disaffiliated form the International hockey federation. I hope Hockey India pull up their socks and start steering the game in the right way .

And yeah India has proved that it is a safe place to be in and sports to be conducted , looking forward to IPL and Common wealth games ..Hope Hockey does will in common wealth Games .
