Hollywood Humour!

Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone have all one thing in common!!It’s easy to say they are all actors, it doesn’t stop there, they have all acted in Hollywood Movies well err!!.. They all have acted in movies where they have made a fool of themselves
The dream of the next big step from Bollywood to Hollywood has become a reality for them but did they have really good roles and lets us assume they did have good roles but they did do justice to it?
Anil Kapoor in Mission Possible could have definitely avoided the role (he should have hung himself rather than taking that role: P, definitely not right! Priyanka Chopra in Baywatch the less said about it , it’s better. Deepika in Fast and Furious, her body language and her voice (sorry im not a big fan) didn’t suit her at all, she cut a sorry figure in a big action movie and it appeared her role was included just to appeal to Indian Audience. The Pink panther Movie where Aishwarya Rai played the villain, it was a painful role and she was making it even more painful. The lesser said about her lipstick at Cannes (Some Feminist will bash me for all the comments but the fact is the above mentioned roles are not worth it ).

It’s a big fantasy for almost all movie starts to land a role in Hollywood. Hollywood has started using Indian artist (also Technicians) not only for their skills but also to ensure to cater to the third largest English speaking market. There were good movies made as well like Slum DOG millionaires, Life of PI ( they are not great but good) Kudos to the Resul Pookutty and A.R Rahman for their Oscars , baring those two highlights most of them have been very jarring .
Indian artist should consider meaty roles, which has substance and which suits their personality well, rather than making a fool of themselves. Even the tryst with the small screen Quantico and 24 Hours were good in patches. It’s commendable that these artists are trying to establish a base there but again choose a sensible and appealing role which would bring out their best rather than just appearing in few scenes for the sake of appearing.

I still remember the role of Naseruddin Shah in the League of extraordinary gentlemen, though not a great movie but something to remember. The Indian King Portrayed in the Prince of Persia and the Indian Pirate portrayed in the Pirates of the Caribbean are stereotypical ( Overweight, with squeaky voices ), our artist should take care these roles are portrayed better next time and definitely add substance to it , would love to see a mature role which is portrayed with passion rather than a lot of cleavage .
