Dear Kamal Hassan,

To
Dear Kamal Hassan ,

You would have read umpteen reviews for your latest movie Vishwaroopam, Iam not even sure that, you would eye ball this piece, but then I thought let me pen the train of thoughts which were ignited by the script.

It was nice to see a refreshing movie after a long time, well thought, well researched, well written and well adapted to the screen. The amount of time you would have spent researching on this script is really commendable and finer details of every prop and every character has been addressed.

The dialogues were deep and astounding;they created a long lasting impact. Especially the following one’s created crusts inside the audience

1)
Omar: Why is your name Kashmiri?
Kashmiri: Father left us , To save my mother i needed to add Kashmir...

Omar..o I understand...
Kashmiri.. No you wouldn’t have understood

A true Indian would understand the above dialogue well.

2)

Omar : why should we shed tears? ( "Muslims" shed tears)
Kashmiri: “We are Jihadis”( Replacing “Religion” to Jihadis) we are not meant to shed tears but to shed blood. .You have answered your question in your question itself, if there was a fight there would be some deaths too.

The above dialogue clearly explains the difference between the Jihadi mindset and true muslim.

3)
FBI officer 1: what is he doing? ( When visam prays)
FBI officer 2: He is praying for your good?
FBI officer 1: Like God almighty…
FBI officer 2: Yes , exactly but this is the Arabic version ….

The cinematography is exemplary, the BGM score is good but it may have been better and surely you will look in to this aspect in the forthcoming films. Kudos to the make-up and the costume team, they have done a tremendous job and for sure, they must have lived in the characters when they were thinking of the costumes.

Every actor has done justice to their roles. Nasser is again a shining example of seasoned actor and the acting talent in India. He is been a great ambassodor of Tamil cinema and he has bought his character alive literally. Omar Bhai and the rest of the militant characters were well thought and vividly portrayed on screen.

The sets/Locations were superlative and captivating. The script protrayed the reality to the world what exactly happens in a world overtaken by Jihadi Mindset and how young innocent Muslims are brain washed by the Jihadist and im sure the movie conveyed a soothing message that regardless of the Religion we are all Indians and we would strive it to make it better.

The talent you posses are superlative and I really hope your future projects are not stalled by petty mindsets and illogical reasoning by people who just want to stir a controversy just for the sake of it. There were no anti –religious views at all and even after encountering the impacts of Afsal Guru , Ajmal Kasab , Hafeez syed , we still look at our neighbouring Muslims as our friends and part of our families.Hopefully the people who created the stir and the controversy would understand thisand not negate your efforts on bringing another great work on celluloid.

Our answer to movies like Hurt Locker, Behind Enemy lines and saving Private Ryan. Surely, the next part would do even more justice to your talent and hopefully it will be billed as one of all time greatest movies.

The request is to you to research our well famed Tamil History and if possible bring out a Magnus opus from the Chola/Pandya/Pallava Period, we would be obliged and the world would know how advanced and fabled we were through you.

Regards,
Rj

Bow down!

“Another one bites the dust” , that’s how to describe the whole episode of Vishwaroopam a Tamil film which was supposed to be a magnus opus for one of India’s finest actor . Alas , The country has become intolerant to tolerance and tolerant to intolerance, the freedom of art/speech has been severly compromised and its very amusing that all the politicians also took part in the drama rather ensuring that the art is fee flowing , the politicos have ensured that art has got stifled and now every artist will run pillar to post to pacify or to make each and every community happy before delivering it to public.

The Central board for film certification (CBFC) has been made a mockery and even a Honourable Judge has been snubbed by the State .The state must have acted magnanimous and should have ensured that a fine artist should have been protected and regardless of the people involved it must clearly sent out a signal we are free and a tolerant society and society has a whole will not bend to the whimsical of people who say they represent a certain section of society. When the Foreign Invaders stifled our freedom we made hue and cry and we ensured we got freedom but unfortunately now a certain section of societies ensures the rest are held at a ransom just because they have got offended. Taking offense happens only when we feel that we are part of a group or section which has done some dastardly acts! Appalled by the way the film fraternity stood by the artist , they should have done more , stood by him and should have egged him to release the film without any compromises and should have ensured that protesting section should have been made to understand we are all one and this just an form of expression and this wont impact the existing relationships in anyway.

Are we really living in a free Country if you really think so, just read this following dialogue from the movie “The American President”

“America isn’t easy. America is advanced citizenship. You Gotta want it bad, ‘cause it’s gonna put up a fight. It’s gonna say “You want free speech? Let’s see you acknowledge a man whose words makes your blood boil, you want to claim this land as the land of the free? Then the symbol of your country can’t just be a flag; the symbol also has to be one of its citizens exercising his right to burn that flag in protest. Show me that, defend that, and celebrate that in your classroom. Then you can stand up and sing about the land of the free”

The moment the above lines come true, when the country or the society is not held at ransom for some trivail issues by a group which claims to represents larger interest, when the freedom of art is not stifled in the namesake for community..then we may claim to live in free society

The Right History Book....

A Question in History Class ? Who found sea route India ..it will be emphatically answered as Vasco da Gama , all credit to him , the first european to land in India to be preicse Calicut Via Sea Route . I have always wondered how come that a nation which was known to man from time immemorial and had such riches never had a sea route before 1498? well the answer is intriguing , we have been trading with the Romans even before or from 1 B.C and infact "Romans" have come to Kancheepuram which was known as " Kanchi" one of the important commercial and powerful capital in South India.
We were trading incense , spices , pepper and what not . Not only with the Romans but also with the South East Asians. The Arabs are known for trading with us from time immemorial. The question still remains who found the sea route to India ??? or Is it the Indians who navigated , explored around the world established traderoutes.?! Historians Please answer !! In our History books we study, starting from the great Mauryan Empire to how British came to occupy us !how our valiant and great Freedom fighters fought for Independence and got us freedom.Yes we also read about Harrapa and Mohenjadaro( The indus Valley civilizations ). Does this history suffice ? Does anybody know how India influeneced the whole of South east asia and how a decision taken in India would affect the world trade .How we inspired the world's largest Hindu temple and the Hindu empire . yes, the largest Hindu temple is at Cambodia Angkor wat and the Khmer Empire is the largest Hindu Empire .

Have we Read about Bappa rawal,Rana sanga,Guru Gobind Singh,Jijabhai,Gurjara Parvara,Raja Jayapal,Naiki devi,Prithviraj Chauhan,Rana pratap and many more who have fought valantly and repulsed the marauding invaders (Turks,Persians) for more than 150 years.

Do we know that the Chola Dynasty from the southern India was one of the greatest in Asia? They were great Military leaders and they extended the influences of the already vast Chola empire up to the banks of the river Ganges in the north and across the ocean. Rajendra’s territories extended coastal Burma, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Maldives, conquered the kings of Srivijaya (Sumatra, Java and Malay Peninsula in South East Asia) and Pegu islands with their fleet of ships. They defeated Mahipala, the Pala king of Bengal and Bihar. The Tamil Chola armies exacted tribute from Thailand and the Khmer kingdom of Cambodia.

Do we know that Indonesia, Thailand were once a Mighty Hindu empires , do we know that Sngapore was controlled by these Mighty Kindoms ??Are we aware of the Ancient Silk Route?? Tamil was prevelant in most parts of south east asia and even Tamil Brahmni scripts have been found in a port in Tunisia which was once a Roman Trading post !! We had a great military research center at Arikemedu (Tamil Nadu)!!! We had so many native marshall arts which are not covered extensively in our History books. The Greatest Administrative and Statescraft Book " ArthaSasthra" written by Chanakya . Is it getting taught somewhere??? There were Languages known as Pali ,Granth in ancient India ..how many people are aware of this? There were cartographers who mapped the sea route to India during roman times itself , Iam sure not many are aware .. so are we reading the right History of our Nation???

After 1962......

Life is nothing but learning from experience
if not correcting our mistakes but atleast trying to mitigate them next time. This applies to everybody. When we repeat a mistake in school or college, we are reprimanded so bad that we feel as though our life is going to end. When it comes to Corporate ,a mistake done once, sometimes may cost your job even if you are not directly responsible. We are made accountable in each and every sphere of life.
Iam amazed to see that accountability failing when it comes to running the top institutions of the country. The Central Government , well the lesser said the better. It was surprising to see the lack of accountabilty even in a reputed insititution like our respected and " Mighty Military ". We have always had respect for the brave Jawans who put their life on the front in safeguearding out border , but its also painful to know that our military equipments are so obselete and we are lacking far behind in using the latest technology and what keeps our military going is the great will of the personnel involved. There was a recent article about the 1962 China war how we failed to win? and why we failed to win ?and what have we learnt from it?.From the onset , it was a disaster , we were taking on someone who was superior in strategy and also in technology. There was a surprising recent article which said if Airforce was effectively used in 1962 we would have won the war .. !!! so where was the strategy? or who planned the strategy ?..we were taking on the enemy with weapons made in 1932!! Have we learnt something from the 1962 war ?? The answer seems to be an emphatic "NO" . In 1962 the personnel were less and they were armed with 1932 weapons , In 2012 our army is almost a million in strenght but using 1962 weaopns !!! Even an insignificant terrorist outfit seems to have an edge in using latest technologies ...! Useful article from The Hindu "http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/lead/in-dubious-battle-at-heavens-gate/article3992126.ece?homepage=true" All of us, are to remember that there should be an accountability for every " Jawans" Life. We have to wake up and procure arms and ammunitions which can enhance the fighting skills of our brave Jawans and we must remember that they are manning the treachorous border where there are problems on all three fronts . Coast Guard must be updated and enhanced to prevent another MUMBAI style attack. All said and done .. " Will we do it ??" or because of the lacadiscial and lethargic attitude we will still refuse to learn from our Past !

Medals and US!!!!

The Nation rejoices the " Best" ever Olympic games , we have won " Six" medals , Our Largest ever contingent of 86 athletes .. Media and Nation celebrating each of the medals .

My heartfelt congratulation for all the medal winners .They have sacrificed a lot to be here , The Wrestlers Sushil Kumar , Yogeshwar , Boxer Mary Kom , Shuttler Saina, Shooters Gagang Narang and Vijay Kumar deserve all accolades , praises and awards The Boxers were unlucky , refereeing decisions went against us , iam sure our future is bright in Boxing and Wrestling

"In the end, it’s extra effort that separates a winner from second place. But winning takes a lot more that, too. It starts with complete command of the fundamentals. Then it takes desire, determination, discipline, and self-sacrifice. And finally, it takes a great deal of love, fairness and respect for your fellow man. Put all these together, and even if you don’t win, how can you lose?”-- Jesse Owens

The above quote sums it up all for the rest our Indian Contingent who participated in Olympics. We lack the fundamentals.
The Hockey Team ..the lesser said about them the Better , The archers ..real big disappointment , Tennis was marred in controversy even before it started . What about sports like Volley ball , fencing , Football ..we are nowhere near the world stage .

The question to ask is when we will be to compete in all sports ? when we will be able to match International standards?
Why is that we settle for a Bronze? Why is that we have few Brave Hearts??
When other nation harvest at least half a century medals.. we rejoice one or two?? we have the second largest population in the world and we are satisfied with just six medals???? when are we going to be the best ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All-time_Olympic_Games_medal_table

The over all medal tally indicates the sorry status of our affairs .

Too Many questions but too few answers!!The core problem is not the unavailability of Talent but the lack of willingness to spot and show case the talent . WE as a nation are unwilling to encourage sports and to make sure whoever takes up sport has a safe future.

Ancient India was renowned for its sport .. Fencing , Silmabataam , JalliKattu(Bull Fight) , Malyudham ( Wrestling) ..but as foreign forces invaded we have lost not only our identity but unfortunately our sporting abilities too.

The sporting administration needs over hauling , very corrupt and lethargic administrators , who worries only about money and not about developing the sport , Hockey is one fine example of once a great sport of India has gone to its lowest ebb.

We should fast track our sporting infrastructure development and make sure the right talent is spotted and nurtured. More importantly forget our differences, put the Nation ahead and work towards a future were we will celebrate the "First position in the medals table" .

Dark Knight Rises !

Fighting our won adversaries is the greatest challenge, deep inside everyone of us , there is a fear , fear which are known and fear which are unknown . But none of us are ready to face our worst fear..why? Because its the fear of failure .This movie tells you unless you face fear and take it Head on ..it will keep haunting you .
Batman is a mere human but with extra ordinary conviction . The difference between a hero and ordinary man is that how he reacts when he faces adverse situations and whom he chooses to trust and how long to trust .
Trust in what you do ...this will ultimately make people fall in line with you and your venture would be successful !

Everybody is a Batman
"Wear the Mask , its not to protect you but its to protect those who love and care"

" Are you afraid that i would fail , i don't , but you do ".

Movie has been treated really well , every character has been justified and every loose knot has been tied to a good end.
Bruce Wayne Alis Batman dealing with Guilt , his seclusion and his rise have been portrayed in a way as though we feel , we ourselves as Dark knight Has risen to face the Fears .The Dialogues are subtle as well as powerful and they convey what is to be said in effective way .
The ever loyal Alfred , Svelte Cat woman , Stylish Mr.Fox and ever fighting Commissioner Gordon and then our new Hero Detective Blake all have played their part with suave finesse and all deserve the accolades.

The Villain is mean and powerful than our Caped Crusader. The anarchy he creates , breaks the Wayne's Back bone ....the background of his character
" So you use darkness as your weapon , But i was born in the darkness , raised in the darkness , but the time i saw light i was man of darkness and the light didn't mean anything to me "
Very cold hearted villain whose sole mission to let Gotham rot and get destroyed ....does he act alone????

The Bat Mobile (Bike ) and the Flying Bat " Its available in Black " are super cool ! The movie keeps you hinged with the twits and turns right through.Climax is very apt and great way to finish the trilogy .

The Cape Crusader Teaches us to Try Until we Succeed !

After a watching a good movie like this you will know " This is how it feels every time "

Her Love! His Love !

Her Love!

" She said she loves me ..
so does her eyes , her voice and her heart but she cant profess it ,
she wants to hold my hand and walk a mile but all she can
do is to see me from a distance and feel that im walking with her ...
she says she cant say " i love you :
all she can do is whenever i speak , she feels the same when she speaks to me
she says she wants to kiss my eyes and whisper take care
but all she can do is to look into my eyes and smile ,
I asked her why cant she do what she feels like
she replies im not mine and im a prisoner in exile
Only my heart knows that there is no escape from her travails
One day , i said she will be as free as a roaming cloud ..
she smiles and parted ......"

His Love !

" He knows she breaths his name , every breath
He knows that he is filled in her thoughts and words
He knows that she cares , adores
He knows that she caress him everyday in her dreams
But he knows well too that all this is a dream ...
This dream is the eternal truth ".....

Sucides! Strong will!

" Failures are the stepping stones to success" ..the famous adage .. but are really failures are stepping stones to success...??? If so , why we are hearing , seeing and reading so many news about suicides everyday ????

"25 year old committed suicide , Boss scolded him in front of others"( could have reasoned with Boss)
" 14 year old committed suicide , didn't do well in exams" (at least could have waited till the results)
"22 year old committed suicide , Girl didn't accept love" ( Man there are so many other girls)
" 14 year old committed suicide , not having a PlayStation"( lot of people don't even have cricket ball to play)

All of the above specifies or shows one thing in common.. The current generation doesn't have the strength or the courage to face failure or dejection . They lack the inner strength and they are so psyched by the fear of failure or rejection.

The normal tendency of a Human Being is to be accepted and celebrate success but then why is that we are not able to accept defeat , failure or rejection is a part of life .

Simple , the way we are brought up , peer pressure and the they way so called society perceives failures ans rejects .People must understand that its OK and its normal to get rejected or fail after all nobody can win all the times nor all the people we meet will like us .

Parents on their part must ensure the child is cared and made understood that failures are OK and we will be there for you no matter what we are there for you and we will be there for you .
Friends should comfort each other saying " after all if we dint fail we don't learn " and give ample strength who has failed and make them realise there is more to life .
Children must be thought to share and should be inculcated that its all well not o have something and its happiness when we share.
Schools , colleges and universities must also counsel on how to accept failures and the ways to work around rather then admonish .
Colleagues , Bosses must treat everyone equally , if in case a chiding is needed do it in private
Most of all we should be strong and have the ability to pick up ourselves up and fight back .. " Remember Robert Bruce how he learnt to win from a Spider"....
Edison failed a 1000 times but he said he learnt he cant use 1000 things( He found tungsten filament to be used in bulbs)
Abraham Lincoln knew nothing but failures , but he is the Greatest American President ever.....

if we all try to make this mindset and challenge people who say success is only life , the future society will be mentally strong and healthy ...

Its easier said than done ..but its worth a try .

India or Scamia -2

.. The Pride of the Nation.. The Army .. or is it ?? form the recent happenings iam aghast and iam dumb found to describe the scams involved with the Army . We dont have ammunitions??? Everybody was in a perception , Our Army will defeat any nation in Wars and we thought we have learnt our lessons after the defeat to the Chinese ! , but have we?? It was shocking and deluding to know that " We Have Tanks , but we cant use them because we dont have shells" . We have almost overused our arms and ammunitions and we have not upgraded accordingly and somebody wants to Invade India , it is just matter of Days !

Tetra Truck , Back bone of Indian Army .. by what is in the News it is shocking to hear and see that Hoardes of Money has been scammed ! Bribe to the Army Head , that too by another Army officer.. what is happening to US?

The above mentioned details are to be private , but then everything became public and its like we have opened a pandora's box ...!!!!!

Every other nation would laugh at us , for our state of affairs .Scams worth or should i say worth "which cant be estimated" are getting unearthed everyday . Our Intelligence is a Failure , Politicians corrupt to the core , Army devoid of ammunitions , but the common man is taxed so much but then his basic needs are not met !Well Our Country's First Lady is also in question ??? . Her entourage when she travels abroad ?? and one more news of some unconfirmed reports on Land Deals??

On oneside The Tax payer is shelling out is hard earned money and the other side the so called leaders are saving them in their private accounts ,we let terrorist roam freely on our soil , It will not be a surprise if India is inavded by another foreign force.

Our Country needs help and lot of introspection and only if we decide to correct ourselves , the country will stand a chance.

Ode to Dravid !

Ode To Dravid…

There was cute little boy , who wanted to be a warrior for India ,
He wanted to wield a shield and a sword
And to the world he wanted to show he is more than a Gladiator in the arena
Could overpower the enemy with a warm smile than a mighty blow
But wars were done and dusted
So he settled for a sword called willow
And his battle field was 22 yard arena
When other were working hard on aggression and suppression
He was working patience and perseverance
When other were working on striking as hard as they can
He was working on how a soft touch could be a deadly blow
When others were resting
He was toiling hard
When others failed on a foreign battle field
His sword was wielded to an effect which made the enemy run on their own turf.
When Generals , Soldiers and Fortress crumbled around him ,
The man guarded his fort with all valor and elegance
There was not a single crack neither in his defense nor in his forts
Which earned him the name “ The Wall”
When others were throwing insults with their tongue
He was capturing every heart with a soft smile .
And he made sure his willow spoke what was needed to speak .
And when the opportunity came to speak ,
He accepted it gladly and he made Sir Don Proud.
He had a golden heart , obliging every fan who came his way
They were mesmerized not only his willow but by his wisdom too .
When he led , he led from front ,
Victory or Defeat , the impostors were treated the same .
His men were full of confidence , when he is there.
The Most Technically Gifted batsman was said to be no good to shorter forms
But his mettle proved when he easily cleared the ropes in the shorter version too .
Sometimes the Leather in his hand did magic too , wherever he went , it made sure it stuck to the Solid Hands.
May be the leather wanted to learn all his tricks.
And don’t forget the wicket when he bowled too
He has done all the tricks , be it slips or donning the big gloves …
He has given all his soul.
Praises poured from across the globe
But one of the Truest Gentlemen stood humble to the core
And ensured that his legacy lasts for ever on sportsman across genre .
He is ever a True gentleman
Played the sport with all the right spirit and temperament

Rahul “ The Wall “ Dravid will never retire from our Hearts .
