Project Manager from Ancient Times- 1

yada; yada; hi; dharmasya; glanih; bhavati; bharata; abhyutthanam; adharmasya; tada; atmanam; srjami aham.

The above lines are age old and the moment one sees it , we can recogonise these are the words of Lord Krishna , who gave the eternal Bhagavad Gita in a way of preaching to the great Arjuna and also listened by Lord Hanuman. The incident takes place in Mahabharata.

When we say Lord Krishna we correlate how he helped the Pandavas to win over Kauravas and how he ensured the good defeated the evil. Mahabharata is just a story we tells about morals, values, ethics and how to stand our moral ground in spite of all turbulence's around us.

Is Mahabharata, only depicting the above said lines? Or does it tell us more?
If it tells us more, what is it conveying?

The Grand story of Mahabharata conveys how Lord Krishna effectively manages a Program and different projects associated with the Program. Explains how he was able visionary and how he anticipated the risk and constraints, adopted and adapted according to the situation.

Lets illustrate on how good Lord Krishna was and how he effectively he used his resources well on all circumstances.
First of all Lord Krishna was a able communicator (A Project manager communicates 90% of your time) and he achieved success by effectively understanding the situation and disseminating the required information at the right time.
He always acknowledged conflicts and in fact he accepted the risk and he mitigated the risks by deploying the right moves at the right. (Project manager’s mantra for managing positive and negative risks ATMA at EASE)For example saving Arjuna from “Brahmastra” by introducing Kadothaja in the battle and when there was an arrow to Arjuna’s head he ensured the chariot went down a level so the arrow took the crown of Arjuna rather than the head.
Lord Krishna treated everyone alike and he himself was ready to saddle up in to the battle in support o f his team. (He leads from the front).

While strategizing he ensured all the stakeholders were considered and especially the stakeholders with a negative view or with a reluctant mindset was addressed first and made sure that all the interests were covered and addressed adequately and efficiently .For instance even Arjuna refused to fight when he saw all his relatives on the other side of the battle field but Lord Krishna explained Arjuna’s duty to him and alleviated his doubts.

He knew his weakness and strengths or rather his teams weakness and strength (SWOT) and he always analysed the situation according to is tea’s strength and weakness. For instance , When Duryodhana went to his mother to get his physical body to have the power from her eyes , Lord Krishna ensured that Duryodhana had a weakness by making him to cover his thighs in a plantain leaf, so that when Bheema and Duryodhana fight , Bheema can win by striking Duryodhana in his thighs .
He always understood that “we i.e. ordinary men and women were always needed to reminded of their duties and what happens when they falter from Dharma” (Theory x and Theory y).

The rest of the correlation will continue in Part -2..
